Penlee Challenge 2021 – for the RNLI Penlee Branch

On 19th February 2021, a group of friends will be embarking on a Virtual Challenge to raise funds in support of our lifeboat, and to honour the 8 brave crewmen of the Solomon Browne who lost their lives 40 years ago on 19th December 1981 as they went to the aid of the Union Star.

Their challenge is to swim, run, cycle or crawl the equivalent distance from the old Penlee Lifeboat station at Penlee Point, Mousehole to the Statue of Liberty (NYC) & then back to the current Penlee Station in Newlyn – that’s 6,541 miles. They hope to have completed the journey by 19th November 2021.

If you can help support Jamie Walsh, Gareth Owen, Dee Owen, Nik James, Gill James, Vicki Richardson, and Stefan & Louise Grazkow they would be eternally grateful – you can donate via the following link https://www.justgiving.com/…/penlee-lifeboat… They will be posting weekly updates on their progress so please dig deep and share this far and wide.

Good luck with your challenge 👏👏
